Understanding Your Crime Query

Crimes/violations listed are based upon the initial call or report received by the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Division of Police. Initial information is sometimes inaccurate or unfounded. A reported crime classification is subject to change at any time after it is initially received based on investigative follow-up. The initial listing of a call is not changed even if the crime is reclassified. Additionally, mechanical or human error may result in incorrect data being entered into the system.

Data for long time periods may not give an accurate picture of the overall crime in an area. Queries for six months or less are recommended.

All data visualizations on maps are approximate, and attempts to locate or identify specific addresses will fail and should not be pursued.

Note: "Calls for service" data are updated on a weekly basis as a batch. Therefore, the maps do not reflect day-to-day variances.
